Option 1 – Arithmetic within the report:
To multiply two fields, first add the first field and then add the second right under it. Example:
To the right of the description, there is a bigger check box. Keep clicking in the check box until you see the asterisk appear:
This is indicating to multiply Conversion Factor*Chargeback Paid. You can rename the first field to reflect what the calculation is. Our recommendation is to use the arithmetic option if there is no grouping or summing selected in the function drop down.
Option 2 – In design mode
This will allow you to select the database field name to use in the advanced setting to perform a calculation within the report. In the text file, the database names as the name in quotes after the data source name. For example, listed below is first the data source, then the database name, then the description as seen in your report. I highlighted in blue the database name:
You will want to copy this for both of the fields involved in the calculation.
Then, on the fields tab you only need to delete one of the fields. The remaining field is the one that will have the formula. To the right of that field, there is a bolt looking button:
Click that to open the advanced settings pop up. Find the ‘Expression’ text box:
Delete what is currently in there. Then write your formula. For example:
Click OK and then run the report. NOTE: When exporting to excel, the expression will only export if the second excel export (MIME) is used.
